Check out this guide from Head-fi.org:

There is a gaming section in there, but you'll get way more bang for the buck by going with a set of regular (music) cans and a clip-on mic like the Zalman.

For pure gaming and no music listening, I personally would not spend any more than $114 for the cans in my previous post (Audio Technica ATH-M50). Anything more is just a waste for gaming use. Put that money into a better video card instead! ;)

I use Bose QC3s. I splurged one year with my Christmas money and got a good headset that I could use ALL the time.

$200. Need something all around. I been doing a lot of reading and seems like people who knows about headphones are 100% aganist beats.

I been looking into grado but I'm open to others.
klipsch is the way to go. just about everything they make is golden. You really can't go wrong with their products.

Any suggestions that bestbuy has? I kike to see and feel before I spend.

probably nothing of worth. bestbuy is always stupidly over priced and generally only carry a small quantity of headphones and generally they suck.

SylenT u definitely can find a good deal on some decent headphones under 100$ online . Don't even think off buying from best buy . It is a rip off
R u looking for a headset or just headphones .
Though I have to RMA my Klipsch but I figured it would be a great deal . U can use them with yr phone, I pad plus u can use it as a headset too but u ll need adapter for the mic and they r only 75 $

If it's gotta be under a Franklin, this is probably the best choice:

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-280-Pro-Headphones/dp/B000065BPB/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349314652&sr=8-1&keywords=Hd280

Or for well under $50, the best is:

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATHM30-ATH-M30-Professional-Headphones/dp/B00007E7C8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1349314850&sr=1-1&keywords=audio+technica+headphones

The above cans are a steal considering how good they sound.

Again though, if you can justify spending $115 on Amazon, the Audio Technica ATH-M50's are amazing.

and get the Zalman Clip on mic and you are good to go at ~ $50 Dollars

 • 3 months later...

So I meant to get these Audio-Technica ATH-M30:

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATHM30-ATH-M30-Professional-Headphones/dp/B00007E7C8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1349314850&sr=1-1&keywords=audio+technica+headphones

But my girlfriend accidentally got the ATH-M40fs for xmas:

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M40FS-Professional-Precision-Headphones/dp/B0002D03ZW

Pretty badass so far and it definitely has helped me step up my game. I forgot how awesome it was to hear everything. Only knock I have on them is that the 1/4" end is not an adapter its actually the end. So I had to go buy a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter at Radio Shack. Highly recommend these for anyone looking for a cheaper headset.

I use an Astro A50 wireless.

I was going to get the Astro headset a couple months ago but it was too expensive and you can only order it online and then on top of that i had to pay shipping and customs fees. Got a sennheiser 765 headset instead.
