Half-Life 3 Announcement

So I dunno about you guys, but I really liked the original Half-Life and Half-Life 2. I just read this morning that Half-Life 3 is on the list to be announced at Gamescom.


Half-Life 3 may be officially confirmed and shown off for the first time at Gamescom 2012.

The title appears on an [url="http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/media/gamescom/downloads/pdf/presse/Neuheitenliste.pdf"]official listing[/url] on the Gamescom site that proclaims all the games we'll be finding out during the show. However, according to the document's header, the Gamescom site basically says the information it lists isn't necessarily reliable ([url="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=41003534&postcount=83"]translated from the top of the document[/url]). The list also features BioShock Infinite, which [url="http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/09/bioshock-infinite-delayed-to-2013"]Irrational said earlier this year[/url] would not be shown at Gamescom.

Though never officially confirmed, fans of the series have been hoping for the title for an extended period of time. Frustration at Valve's refusal to discuss the sequel last year led to a [url="http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/118/1187251p1.html"]fan driven campaign[/url] to force the company to talk, with limited success.

There has been no word at all from Valve over whether this rumour is correct, and it seems unlikely we'll hear anything now until the reveal actually does (or doesn't) happen.

We speculated earlier this year that the [url="http://uk.ign.com/games/half-life-3/pc-128068"]time was ripe[/url] for the company to reveal [url="http://pc.ign.com/objects/128/128068.html"]Half-Life 3[/url] and, after [url="http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/122/1224191p1.html"]a quiet E3 for Valve[/url], it'll be interesting to see whether Valve has decided at long last to put us out of our misery.

Yeah, I can't wait for the new HL. I plan on playing through them all again for a refresher since we know that HL3 is going to be the last one in a lonnnnng time.

From HL1, to all the spin offs, including the soldier one...that one was so much fun. I might run through them again on easy for "old school gamers" sake.

Eh I just spent the $10 on it and loaded it up, not really worth it, doesn't look near as good as source.

Not sure what you mean?

They released HL1 with the Orange Box engine a few years ago. But I bought yesterday just to see it and it did not look that great.
