SE maps

the map is normalized for sight....you know how far away on dust2 it gets hazy....its not like that on an se map, its like it was in 1.6 where everything is perfectly visualized no matter how far away.

Edit:

Yea I just looked it up...se maps have little to no fog on them, and most of the breakable props are removed. Basically they are optimized for competitive play

Ah yeah I will add them to the list.

Do you think we should run them instead of regular maps though? While some may like them we have a very active server, do you think it could kill off some traffic or no?

Any tips on how to get these monster FPS? The max I'm seeing is around 120fps with an average of 80fps. I'm running a MSI Radeon HD 6670- 1GB, GDDR5 Video Card, on a Asus Sabertooth 990 FX board, with a AMD Phenom II 3.4ghz processor, 8gb RAM, Win7 Ultimate x64

I've updated my video drivers, turned off anti aliasing on both the OS and ingame, as well adjusted all ingame settings to their minimum, with fps_max 300. I'm also using the config that Deathrow posted about that can be found http://www.netcodeil...xec.html. (Which I'm not entirely sure about atm, as I just started using it.)

in counter strike I believe and correct me if im wrong but Fps = Cpu and Resolution = Gpu

Is that the quad core phenom? You should definitely be hitting high fps not sure what else to tell you but to check drivers and lower settings such as shadows and such.. Since you already did that make sure everything is working correctly too. I once plugged my monitor into my mobo for intel graphics instead of my 6870 so I was getting some weird results.

edit: now that I look at it that gpu is kind of old and might be bottlenecking your computer. I haven't done much research on this stuff in awhile though so I could be wrong. And if that CPU isn't quad core then that seems like the right fps that you're getting

Yea its a quad core. After further research it appears that AMD processors and CS:GO aren't friendly with each other. This seems to be a problem that all AMD users are experiecing. Supposedly this lastest patch is supposed to address the issue, but I'm still bouncing anywhere from 70fps to 120fps. If i'm staring at a wall I can easily get 200 fps, but the second a ct pops on my screen and starts firing i'm back into the 70-90fps. I'm gonna start looking for a new video card, if anyone has any recommendations, please offer them. I really don't want to go over $200 dollars, and prefer something around $100ish.

Here are my specs:

Intel Core-i7 2700 3.5 Ghz Quadcore
16 GB DDR3
GeForce GTX 580 3GB

I am usually one of the first, if not the very first, into the server when a new round starts.

Here is a website with video card benchmarks, and you can price check on newegg to get the ultimate bang for your buck!

I think that has more to do with your internet connection versus your PC hardware. I know I'm almost always first one on map changes. 15MB connection ftw.
