The War Z

The biggest complaint I see on both the steam and their forums is lack of customer support and lack of promised features. Followed closely by a large number of complaints about hackers.

Apparently there's basically no pve, it's all people camping and killing new players and stealing their stuff.

There just seems to be more negative posts ... I'm interested in this type of game, that's for sure. But bottom line is it sounds like it's not ready yet.

This is a review of Day Z btw not War z.
[background=rgb(222, 222, 222)]I think there are a few groups of players who don't like us for what we're doing :[/background]

[background=rgb(222, 222, 222)]1) Extreme DayZ fanboys. I really envy to Dayz creators for having such loyal players, yet I don't think we can do anything - yes we've announced game right before DayZ mod reached it's prime and it started losing popularity after that. And yes - The War Z and DayZ themes are similar. Heck - both projects are using same reference to other products in their titles [/background][background=rgb(222, 222, 222)])). So - if I'll be a Dayz fanboy - I'll be royally pissed off at The War Z. Especially since they won't be able to do anything about it, all they can do is to spread lies and false information about game. They just love to omit obvious facts and bend words.[/background]

[background=rgb(222, 222, 222)]2) Players that got a different game from what they expected. One example of this - is whole PVE vs PVP discussion. When we asked our players - we've got very interesting results - half of players want unrestricted PVP, half want to eliminate PVP aspect of the game and keep game strictly PVE. Problem that can't be solved by us.[/background]
They can't do anything about the pvp vs pve thing? seriously? they make the game but they can't do what EVERY OTHER MMO does and separate pvp and pve servers? for real? <sighs> I need a walking dead mmo... like l4d 2 en mass

 • 2 months later...

A buddy of mine and I played Day Z quite a bit and really enjoyed it.  We've stopped playing the mod version and will pick up the retail when it comes out.  They've acquired an agreement with the company that makes Arma 2, Bohemia Interactive.  Bohemia is the main company behind the game with the guy who created the mod as the project manager.  They were trying to release the game by the end of the year, but after seeing War Z's failures, they decided to take their time and really revamp the game to create a better experience.  I'm definitely getting it when it comes out.  If you hadn't played either War Z or Day Z, I'd encourage you to check out Day Z when it comes out :)
