Stevary
I'm one of those n00bs that's been buying Skullcandy earphones for the longest time. I've had so many of them break after 2 months of use that I've finally had enough of it. This time I want to get a good pair of over-the-ear headphones. Something with good sound so I can comfortably listen to music with it. Something that's soft and comfortable on my head while I play CS: GO. I don't really want anything with a microphone unless the microphone is going to have good quality. I've already got a microphone. But if the microphone is good I wouldn't mind it. My budget is about $50. Nothing higher. Do you guys think you could recommend me something? Headphones that have caught my eye: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-419-Headphones-Black/dp/B005SNPTS2/ref=sr_1_50?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1366326176&sr=1-50&keywords=headphones http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-108323-Premium-Hi-Fi-Headphone/dp/B007SP2CO2/ref=sr_1_92?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1366326287&sr=1-92&keywords=headphones http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Stereo-Gaming-Headset-TM-YB100A/dp/B001FY7LBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366325830&sr=8-1&keywords=headset http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007E7C8/ref=s9_simh_gw_p267_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_r=126W08PZ8H98Z51RSSQ2&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938731&pf_rd_i=507846 I'm not sure if I really like either of these though.. Puss in Boots
3 of those 4 don't have mics? Also, I am refraining from suggesting any mics since I get made fun of enough as it is for having a mic that works (barely) in-game and didn't work in TS at all. Will have to get Mumble set up. For the record though, past headsets that worked great for me before OSG days were Plantronics GameCOMs. Never had any issues at all with them. Hollow Clipz
If you can't push the extra 5 bucks it would be a shame because these are great budget headphones great sound and ridic mic http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B1KJK22/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&keywords=gamecon%20780%20headset&qid=1366337514&sr=8-1 If not then the http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M30-Professional-Closed-back-Headphones/dp/B00007E7C8/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top with http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1366337671&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=zalman+clip+on+mic
Stevary
I don't really need a mic. The one on my laptop is fine. I guess I'm looking for something that is more headphones that you use for music than headset that you use for gaming.
darkcrypto23
I always like the Logitech USB ones (the mid-range priced ones). I have 2-3 spares because mics tend to konk out for various reasons.
Hollow Clipz
you said you didnt want one unless the mic was good and trust me its crystal clear. Music is pretty good on it as well.
SylenT
I have the audio-technica ATH-M40fs: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M40FS-Professional-Precision-Headphones/dp/B0002D03ZW/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1366383018&sr=1-1&keywords=audio-tech+ath-40fs Solid headphones.. but they don't come with an adapter so you'd have to go buy one from like radioshack. I meant to get the m30 like Hollow linked but my gf goofed. Still good stuff though!
Merle_Haggard
Over the years I've learned to avoid headsets. Either the mic goes out and it's difficult to fix or the ear pieces go out, all within 4-5 months of owning it. Instead, I've opted for a nice pair of Sennheisers and a stand-up mic. I found a refurbished logitec mic for around $20, that's usually $100 and it sounds WAYYYY better than my previous mic.

Merle_Haggard
I have the Sennheiser PXC 450. They're good, but they're made for traveling. So the sound is a little flat compared to other models. I would consider another model if you want to use it for music/gaming.
