Walking-Decoy
Just curious. When I led OSG's competitive team, we experiemented a lot with sensitivity... Me being on the low end and a few of my players on the high end. After playing multiple matches and watching their demos I had them slowly lower their sensitivity and we saw dramatic improvement of first shots landing, more headshots, and much less "overshooting the target" in terms of passing over them with the crosshair then having to readjust aim to be centered on them. I can't remember what I play with currently, I'll check when I get home, but it's usually around a 1 with my mouse setting as low as possible. I have a HUGE mousepad as well and can only get around 3/4 of the way turned around with the whole pad. It's technically a drawback, but I just try and not let anyone get behind me Just curious what you guys all play with? Chaaaaaarrrrrrrgeeee! npk
pretty low, mouse accel off, raw data, prolly somewhere in the 3 area w g9 sens at about half "Your training will tell you that when the adrenaline kicks in you should compensate, but part of you is not gonna believe the training because this kill is personal. Take a deep breath, you only need one shot." Make it count
Walking-Decoy
^Yeah that sounds good. One thing I need to get back into and set up correctly are the things you mentioned like mouse accel and etc. That should help my game a lil bit in the consistency department. Chaaaaaarrrrrrrgeeee! Gln
I know people say turn mouse accel off and I used to, but now that it's in game and not just within windows I'm leaving it on. My sensitivity is at 6.

Walking-Decoy
You guys should totally lower it!! Good rule of thumb... If you can turn around more than a full circle from one end of your mousepad to the other, it's way too high. You should BARELY be able to turn around 3/4 of the way. You will see huge jumps in accuracy, headshots, and your first shots will hit more often. Chaaaaaarrrrrrrgeeee!
ThomasTrouble
Hey all. First Post. I typically range my sensitivity from 1.7 up as high as 3. I'm sure that anything after the decimal point matters, but probably not that much. Psychosomatic and whatnot. However my typical setting for mouse sensitivity is 1.7. I agree with Decoy's "overshooting" and first shot accuracy theories. Like in any game it's good to develop a high sense of awareness. This awareness will let you get away with murder when using a low sensitivity. The only flaw I see with having it as low as I do is checking your six. Dogman
2.0 and I'm sure I'll lower it a bit more as I get back into CS. I think I remember being around 1.2 or 1.3 back when I was super serious.
Metal
Mine is set to 5 now, i did have it around 7.5 But really I don't know what that # means because I do have a logitech mouse with the buttons on it to adjust sensitivity.

Gohda
Right now ingame is set to whatever the default for CS:GO is. In Source and previous, it was 2-3. I've got one of the original G5 mice, which is almost always set on the middle sensitivity setting. I rock the defaults, just one of the reasons I'm so terrible at this game now. Hilikus
I lowered mine to 2. Helped quite a bit. I tried lowering it to 1, but find that my mouse pad isn't big enough to support the large hand movements. Thanks for the tip.
etard
indeed, you have to have a lot of real estate to support the lower sensitivity, one swipe across my 2 foot wide mousepad just barely turns me 180 degrees, but it allows for significantly improved accuracy and consistency. It also takes some getting used to for your muscles because you start using a lot more full arm movements, not just wrist flicking everything so it can be taxing at first, but stick at it.
