etard
Noctua NH D14 fan/heat sink things a total fucking monster weighs like 15lbs and keeps my CPU at safe temps even at full load. Had to get the HAF932 case just to accommodate its size not to mention only a few motherboards had proper layouts to allow for all my hardware namely the 4 sticks of RAM without interferenc from the massiv heatsink loo. it's not even that loud in the grand scheme of things and the cooling is fairly comparable and less complicated than water cooling. It's 90 bucks on newegg. Edit: The 5.0ghz over clocking is part of my motherboards standard over clocking configuration. So it's the auto tuned over clocking just like you probably are using I think I have 4.2/4/6/8 and 5.0 as options with my Mobos bios tuning software so its a proven thing with this motherboard I'm not doing anything too crazy I just did a ton of research into everything I bought before ordering

TimmBozels
Oh man, I have nothing nearly as up to date as the rest of you. Being a broke college student and spending all my money on whiskey really takes a toll on my tech. Here's what I've managed to scrap together from various places without paying more than $100 total: Intel Core2 Quad Q6700 (Wish it was the Q6600 so I could overclock forever) GeForce GTX 260, fuck me right? Had this for many years and it throws off more heat than my stovetop 4GB OCZ ddr3 ram @ 1066 $30 gigabyte motherboard, forget model Corsair HX750 power supply, which I LOVE Western Digital Raptor X @ 10,000 rpm, 150 x2 A lot of fans. CousinBo
Cost me right at 3k for everything. When I built it I priced all the prices with Alienware and it would have cost me almost 7k to build it through them, I just wanted to see what it would be retail. [/quote] Once I got passed the initial "what in the fuck is goin on here..." at the start screen after a fresh format, I now prefer Windows 8. All that "OMG YOU HAVE TO DO SOOOO MANY MORE CLICKS TO GET PLACES!!!!!!" is pure nonsense. I find it quite easy to navigate and absolutely love some of the new features
